38th Rally Argentina: What do the Hyundai drivers think?

After the triumphs of 2016 and 2017, the official team Hyundai hopes to extend its dominance in the Rally Argentina, fifth date of the tournament that will be played from Thursday. The Korean squad will enlist three i20 WRC for the belgian Thierry Neuville, which he won last year; norwegian Andreas Mikkelsen and Spanish Dani sordo. Each one shared their feelings for the event organized by the Automobile Club Argentino.

Hyundai twice won Argentina. In 2016 with New Zealander Hayden Paddon and in 2017 with Thierry Neuville.

Thierry Neuville: “Rally Argentina is a great event that attracts an incredible crowd of rally fans. Create a fantastic atmosphere that we appreciate during specials. We have good memories from last year's rally, which we narrowly won on the Power Stage. Hope we can get a similar result this time. It is a very demanding event, very hard on the car and the crew. You have to take it seriously ”.

Andreas Mikkelsen: “It is probably one of my favorite rallies of the whole season. It's a very special gravel test because the roads are more sandy, which suits my riding style a bit more. You can really create an angle, which helps attack the curve. The stages can be quite tough on the second pass so it is important to take care of the car, but overall it is a beautiful rally. El Cóndor and Mina Clavero are two sections that I particularly like ”.

Dani sordo: “The large number of spectators make this rally a special event for everyone. It's nice to see so many people on the stages cheering us on. It gives us motivation, regardless of how things go. Of course, our goal is to fight to finish at the top. We have had a couple of good results in a row so we want to take advantage of the momentum to add another gravel podium to the one we achieved in Mexico. "

ENGINE IMPROVEMENTS
All crews carried out a three-day test in Portugal as tests are prohibited outside of Europe. By making preparations on the dirt tracks near Amarante, the team was able to validate engine improvements that are released in Argentina.
