During the 2016 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Ford Performance unveiled a new racing Mustang developed with Multimatic Motorsports and ready to race around the world: the Ford Mustang GT4.
Inspired by the Ford Shelby GT350R-C that won the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge championship this year, the Mustang GT4 is homologated to also compete in the Pirelli World Challenge GTS / GT4 and the GT4 European Series.
The Mustang GT4 is equipped with the new generation 8-liter V5.2 racing engine specially calibrated for GT4 racing. This impeller was designed, validated and built by Ford Performance in collaboration with Roush Yates Motors.
A compact and lightweight six-speed Hollinger paddle-shift gearbox offers proven racing strength with direct pneumatic actuation that enables fast, positive and consistent gear changes. The GT4 engine also features a dry sump lubrication system and a racing double disc clutch.
The Mustang GT4 chassis features Multimatic's Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve (DSSV) dampers, which allow advanced vehicle control; lower rear control arms and front and rear stabilizer bars from Multimatic, 18x11-inch light alloy wheels from Forgeline and for brakes, rotors and six-piston calipers from Brembo
Aerodynamic improvements include a rear wing, whose design derives from everything learned in the Ford GT racing program, a front splitter, hood vents and a rear diffuser.
Inside, the Mustang GT4 features an FIA-homologated roll cage and a MoTeC racing dash logger.
