The Mercedes team presented a program to promote diversity and inclusion

It's called Accelerate 25 and it's backed by Lewis Hamilton, its star driver.


The team Mercedes-AMG Petronas de F1 announced the creation of Accelerate 25, a five-year program that aims to make you a diverse and inclusive team.

The German team has already shown its commitment to equality by changing the traditional silver tone of its vehicles for black in accordance with the cause Black Lives Matter supported by english Lewis Hamilton, its star pilot.

"The last few months have seen a great deal of studies, research and work carried out within the team as we want to deepen our understanding in this area and develop our culture and practices", explained the squad through a press release.

"We firmly believe that a more diverse and inclusive team will not only make us faster, but will also inspire others to set ambitious goals in this area.", Agregó.

Accelerate 25 aims for at least 25% of all new team members to come from underrepresented groups, a goal expected to be achieved by the end of 2025.

“In what has been a really difficult year for everyone, I am incredibly proud of my team as we come to the end of such an intense season. Not only have we made history on the track, but they have joined me in pushing for change off the track, working to make our team and our sport more diverse ”, Hamilton explained.

“We have made some positive progress this year that I am proud of. However, we still have a long way to go and I know that Accelerate 25 will not provide the platform for more meaningful change. I truly believe this will have a measurable and lasting impact on the face of sport for generations to come. ” added the multiple champion.
