The team Mercedes de F1 already announced that the next March will present his new vehicle, the Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance. Now the German team only has to close a deal with the English Lewis Hamilton as to aim to focus on extending his reign in the highest category.
Originally the renewal contract between the seven-time F.1 champion driver and the team was to be finalized at the end of December last year, but a series of disagreements put a question mark on the relationship they have had since 2013.
However, British media reported that there is already a principle of agreement for this story to have a happy ending. The new agreement with the multiple champion would not be for a year, as he wanted Daimler; but two seasons with an option to a third. Also Lewis would have a say in choosing his teammate.
However, there is something important that still prevents Mercedes from ratifying Hamilton in his position: the economic part, nothing less. Still the annual floor of the corridor was not agreed, nor were the bonuses (for victory, podiums and the title).
Although at first this seems a delicate part of the negotiations, it transpired that there is a will on both sides for there to be a handshake. Moreover, the announcement of the continuity of Hamilton in Mercedes could arrive at the end of this week or during the next.
