Alberto Canapino: Why are we going to miss him?

The preparer was noted for his inventiveness and his ability to innovate.

During his 35 years in motorsport, Alberto Canapino got tired of building winning cars in the Road Tourism. He achieved victories and titles from the hand of great pilots such as Juan Maria Traverso, Guillermo Ortelli and even his own son, Agustin Canapino.

His passingobviously shocked the national nut environment, something that it could be seen on social networks with different messages, not counting the emotional letter that Agustín wrote to him ...

The reef builder was noted for his resourcefulness and restless spirit. That led him, for example, to build vehicles that marked an era. Who does not remember that Chevy from Ortelli that caused the annoyance of Flaco Traverso after the one from Salto took him half a second in a classification. "It's a car from another planet", Ramallo's fired on that machine ...

But perhaps the best example of his ingenuity is this photo that Jorge Marchesin took in a test in La Plata. Simulation systems aside, Canapino tested the performance of a diffuser in the car of Josito Di Palma well a la criolla: with some little pieces of wool on the side of the car. "Can you take pictures of it?", the builder asked the photographer, who obviously accepted the challenge and left testimony of the original system.

For these things, for his power to analyze different situations, for the desire to constantly improve himself, for offering his knowledge to all those who wanted to hear him ... For all those things we will miss Alberto Canapino, always.
