El Alpine Elf Matmut Endurance Team presented the Alpine A480, the vehicle with which it will compete this year in the World Endurance. The prototype will be driven by the French Nicolas Lapierre y Matthieu Vaxiviere and Brazilian André Negrão.
Alpine, which until last year competed in the class LMP2, accepted the challenge of competing in the new division LMH which replaces the LMP1 as the most important category in the contest. There he will have as rivals Toyota y Glickenhaus.
For that he puts the Alpine A480 on the track, a prototype built on a chassis developed by Oreca and powered by a 8-liter V4.5 engine supplied by Gibson Technology. It is equipped with tires Michelin , in accordance with the Hypercar class regulations.
