A few days before the 2021 edition of the rally starts Dakar Rally, which will take place in Saudi Arabia from January 3 to 15, Bahrain Raid Xtreme showed in society its prototype T1 which it baptized as Hunter. The team, which will debut in the legendary race, will enlist two units that will be led by the French Sébastien Loeb and Spanish Nani Roma.
The prototype is red, it only has a few inscriptions, such as the team's name on the nose and sides, the logo of Prodrive, the structure that is in charge of the project, in the endplates of the rear wing and the roof and the word Hunter in the rear sector.
“The BRX Hunter was built based on Prodrive's experience in racing at the highest level in the motor world for three decades. We have built what we think is the best possible vehicle to contest the Dakar Rally ”, said David Richards, BRX Team Director.
“The car has been specifically designed for extreme desert conditions and we have performed meticulous tests to prepare it for the challenge it will face. With Sébastien Loeb and Nani Roma at the wheel of each of the two units we are confident that we can compete in our first Dakar ”, added the former navigator.
Loeb, who is returning to racing with the aim of achieving his first success, claimed to have enjoyed the unit's development stage. “It was great testing the Hunter in Dubai, working with the team and seeing the last pieces come together. We have been learning new things every day and we are ready for the Dakar 2021 ”.
While Rome, who won the test in 2004 in motorcycles and in 2014 in cars, stated: “The BRX Hunter has been in the works for a long time and seeing it come to life has been a great experience. The Dakar is a very special challenge and competing with BRX in their first rally to show the world what the Hunter is capable of is very exciting.
The BRX Hunter is powered by Ford's 6-liter biturbo V3.5 engine that delivers 400 CV and 699 Nm of maximum torque.
