Bentley motorsport presented the Bentley Continental GT3, the racing version of the new Continental GT. It is a model destined to participate in different championships in 2018, such as the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup.
This vehicle, which was created in collaboration with the engineers of M-SportIt is 4,86 m long, 2,05 m wide and 1,46 m high. Its total weight is less than 1.300 kg thanks to its aluminum chassis and the use of carbon fiber in different components. Its image is enhanced with a sports kit that includes the front splitter, rear air diffuser, skirts and an imposing three-piece rear spoiler.
The Bentley Continental GT3 has top-notch racing elements like AP Racing clutch, ventilated Alcon brakes, BBS Motorsport wheels, a carbon driveshaft, a rear limited slip differential, a double wishbone suspension with adjustable dampers and a sequential transmission of six gears Ricardo.
It also presents extensive safety equipment with roll cage, harnesses with six anchor points, fire extinguisher and watertight tank. In addition, Bosch developed an ABS system and also a traction control, both supervised by the FIA and intended for all cars in this category.
The Continental GT3 is equipped with a new version of the 8-liter V4.0 engine developed by Cosworth. Its improvements include a new dry sump lubrication system, a new intake system and a renewed exhaust line. In total, it delivers more power to the rear axle than the 550 CV.
This racecar is in the process of development on tracks in France, Portugal and the United Kingdom and will be available in June next year.
