Football club Corinthians will honor the Brazilian star Ayrton Senna through his third shirt. Senna, who was Formula 1 champion in 1988, 1990 and 1991 and lost his life in 1994 during the San Marino GP, was a fan of the São Paulo club.
While the driver achieved all his crowns with McLaren, Corinthians' homage is based on the Lotus that drove in 1985 and 1986. That's why the jacket is black with golden tones. In addition, he has his legendary signature on the chest and 41 stripes in reference to all his successes in the F.1.
The project was developed in partnership with Nike and Ayrton Senna Institute. And the goal of the Corinthians marketing department is to use the driver's name to reach the international market in countries like Japan, for example, where he is an idol.
