The circuit of Baku, scene of Azerbaijan Grand Prix de F1, demonstrated its difficulty during classification tests with accidents in each of the three phases. But that did not overshadow the great work of the Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), who achieved pole position for the sixth round of the season.

For Leclerc this result means a rematch after what happened at the Monaco GP, where he had also dominated in the timed session, although he was left without starting due to a mechanical problem that he discovered during the formation lap.

The Scuderia driver set his best lap in 1m41s218 / 1000 and left the english behind Lewis Hamilton, who was in great shape after a difficult start to the weekend in which the Black Arrows of Mercedes they did not seem to adapt entirely to the characteristics of the track.

The other side of the coin in the German team was the Finn Valtteri Bottas, who finished tenth behind the Spanish Fernando Alonso (Alpine).

Completing the second row on a track like Baku is good for Hamilton's aspirations to retain the crown as the Dutchman Max Verstappen (Red Bull), leader of the competition, will start from the third position in front of the French Pierre Gasly (AlphaTauri).

La curve 3 from Baku had to bring several drivers who damaged their cars there causing red flags that delayed all activity. In Q1 the Canadian hit the wall Lance stroll (Aston Martin) and the Italian Antonio Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo), in Q2 the Australian did the same Daniel Ricciardo (McLaren) and in Q3, the Japanese Yuki tsunoda (AlphaTauri) and Spanish Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), the latter made Leclerc's pole taste bittersweet for the Italian team.

The race will start on Sunday at 9 in Argentina.
