Goodbye Chase Carey… Welcome Stefano Domenicali!

The former Ferrari team-manager will be the head of Formula from 2021.


In the absence of an official announcement, F1 has already communicated to the teams participating in the specialty that from 2021 the Irish Chase carey he will no longer be the head of the championship. His place will be taken by the Italian  Stefano Domenicali, former team-manager of Ferrari.

Stefano dominicaliDominicali was the head of the Scuderia between 2008 and 2014 when he was replaced by his compatriot Marco Mattiacci, who had a fleeting step in office. After his departure from the Maranello team, Dominicali made a career in brands of the Volkswagen Group: in Audi was head of the new business unit and was later appointed as CEO of Lamborghini y Ducati.

Carey, meanwhile, was appointed by Liberty Media as president of the F.1 in September 2016 after closing a deal with Bernie Ecclestone to buy the category by 4.000 million. In January 2017, the American was appointed as CEO to replace Ecclestone.

During Carey's tenure, La Máxima reached new markets such as Vietnam, had a greater presence in social networks, created its own streaming platform, featured a series in Netflix, carried out a complicated 2020 marked by the pandemic of coronavirus and renewed the Agreement of Concord with a more equitable distribution of profits.
