Chinese car manufacturer Chery will start selling vehicles in United States from 2021 under the brand Vantas after the agreement reached with HAAH Automotive Holdings, an American imported car distribution company.
"This is a historic agreement ... Vantas is fully committed to producing each of its vehicles in the United States, creating jobs in the United States.", he claimed Duke hale, the president and CEO of HAAH.
Ray bierzynski, executive vice president of Chery, stated that "The technical collaboration with HAAH will provide support for the development of new products that will meet and exceed the expectations of North American consumers."
The first vehicle to be marketed will be based on the Exeed, an off-road SUV equipped with a 1.6 liter diesel engine and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that generates 197 horsepower. "The engineering development for its homologation in the US market has already begun"HAAH explained in a statement.
Vantas vehicles will be sold through the Internet and through a dealer network that HAAH will begin to build in the coming weeks.
Chery, established in 1997, is a Chinese state-owned company that maintains cooperation agreements with Jaguar Land Rover, among other companies. Today it is the largest exporter in China with sales in 80 countries.
