For his third foray into Saudi Arabia, the rally Dakar Rally continues his exploration of different territories and offers a program with an even greater proportion of sand in the stages.
On the roads or navigating through immense dune ridges, drivers and teams will have to measure themselves on all types of sand. Furthermore, they have already understood that navigation in Arabia must be precise. They will face a veritable tangle of routes and make decisions that could prove decisive in the fight for the title.
The competition, divided into twelve stages, it will have a total travel of 8.177 kilometers which 4.258 km correspond to special tests. The rest 3.919 km, meanwhile, are liaison.
It will have a total of 578 vehicles, 149 motorcycles; 105 Side-by-Side (44 in T3 and 61 in T4), 97 cars, 58 trucks, 21 quads. In addition, the category Dakar Classic, who is on his second experience, has 128 cars y 20 trucks.
Share 29 to December 31 They will be held in Jeddah technical and administrative verifications. While the first stage will be divided into two sections: the first, which includes the start ceremony, will be held on 1 de Enero and will unite Jeddah and Ha'il. The second will be the next day and will have start and finish in Ha'il.
As of January 3, competitors will go in search of Riyadh, which on January 8 will be the scene of the rest day. Once this first part of the competition has been completed, the second section will go in search of the goal in jeddah, where the same January 14 will be the awards.

The heart of Dakar Rally 2022 will be the Rub 'al Khali desert, better known as the Empty Quarter, with an area greater than that of France with its more than 650.000 m2.
