They say that there is no evil that lasts a hundred years. And the team can attest to that McLaren, one of the most legendary of the F1, which returned to triumph in the category after 3.213 days since his last celebration had been in the Brazilian Grand Prix de 2012 with english Jenson Button. The person responsible for cutting the streak was the Australian Daniel Ricciardo by imposing itself on the Italian Grand Prix, 14th date of the contest 2021.

The key to the triumph of Ricciardo, who had not won since Monaco GP de 2018, was in the start in which he beat the Dutch Max Verstappen (Red Bull), who started first despite being second in Saturday's sprint.

Daniel RicciardoThe reason for Verstappen's pole position was the penalty suffered by the Finn Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) to change the power unit for the fourth time, something for which he was forced to start on Sunday from the bottom despite winning the Saturday race.

Ricciardo kept the race under control at all times and took advantage of an incident involving Verstappen and the English Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and that left both of them out of the race.

On lap 25 of the 53 agreed they both arrived at the first chicane at the same time after Hamilton's stoppage in the pits. The Englishman, who returned seventh to the track, entered the variant on the internal side and the Dutchman, who made a stoppage in which he lost eleven seconds, on the outside.

Verstappen's car was mounted on Hamilton's after hitting with the outside pianito and both were confused, being without the possibility of resuming the march.

Lewis Hamilton and Max VerstappenWithout the scepter candidates on the track, Ricciardo only encountered some resistance from his English partner. Lando Norris. However, the team interceded not to compromise an excellent double, which it had not achieved since the 2010 Canadian GP when Button won followed by Hamilton.

As brilliant as the work of Ricciardo, Norris and McLaren was the work of Bottas who after starting from 19th place finished third ahead of the Mexican Sergio Pérez (Red Bull), penalized with five seconds for cutting a curve. The Top 6 was completed by the Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), fourth after the ban on Checo; and spanish Carlos Sainz (Ferrari).

The fight for the crown has no variants with Verstappen at the forefront of the contest with a five-point advantage over Hamilton.
