The DS brand, independent from Citroën for a year, will present a new concept at the Geneva Motor Show: the E-Tense, a one hundred percent electric sports car.
The E-Tense is the result of an artisan know-how, combined with the use of digital tools, so that the result is a mixture of luxury, high-tech and high performance. This vehicle is the technological and stylistic vision of the brand with which it anticipates the future.
The new 4,72 meter long and 1,29 meter high concept is powered by a powerful 402 horsepower electric traction chain and 516 Nm of torque.
With its silhouette of a Gran Turismo coupe, underlined by a chrome dorsal, its body color, Amétrine Green metallic, the DS E-Tense generates, just by looking at it, the desire to see it in motion, says the brand.
The avant-garde characteristic of the D design can be seen at the rear, since, like the Divine DS, the DS E-Tense does not have a bezel, which has given stylists great freedom to work on the model already. Product teams to introduce digital rear-view mirror technology.
The front and rear light signature has undergone special treatment, so that the front LED modules (DS ACTIVE LED VISION) have been treated under the inspiration of jewelery and watches.
The daytime running lights - designed in the shape of pearls - underline the look of the vehicle and, at the rear, the indicators integrated into the roof are a nod to the DS from 1955. The culmination of the light signature is in the taillights, designed as plates, showing the tone of the next DS.
The interior of the vehicle features polished and stitched leathers on the seats and woven aluminum on the center console. On the dashboard, the presence of cold steel stands out, which gives it its futuristic structure, as well as a bell-shaped steering wheel.
To sublimate the interior, bespoke objects have been created in collaboration with French luxury brands, such as the helmet case created with the House of Moynat or a watch, a unique piece, manufactured by BRM Chronographes.
DS has endowed its creation with a clean propulsion, a one hundred percent electric motorization with a range of 310 km in mixed cycle or 360 km in urban cycle.
The lithium-ion batteries that power the engine are located under the car's chassis, allowing for a low center of gravity and a balanced torque distribution over the axles.
The 2-seater monocoque carbon chassis is equipped with independent double-wishbone superimposed suspensions.
Driving is facilitated by high-definition digital instrumentation, with a 12-inch digital instrument cluster associated with a 10-inch touchscreen.
Other technological equipment is also present in the vehicle, such as the digital rear vision associated with the rear camera or the “clean cabin” technology that, integrated in the air conditioning, allows active protection of the occupants.
The system permanently detects, analyzes and filters the pollutants that come from outside, and in this way cleanses the air in the passenger compartment.
