During the last edition of Andalusia Rally was launched with great fanfare and cymbals a project tailored to the DakarFuture, as the organizers of the demanding competition call this path that will culminate in 2030 when all participants use vehicles powered by low-emission energy.
Under the banner of Avatel Racing Team EcoPower a Electric Side by Side whose technology will be the basis of a pick-up that will face the Dakarian challenge in 2023.
The main objective of this project is to promote the rebirth of EBRO, a Spanish brand that between 1954 and the mid-1980s manufactured buses, trucks, vans, SUVs and tractors. Now under the management of EcoPower Automotive, will return to the streets with a zero-emission truck that will begin production in 2022.
The Avatel Racing Team EcoPower draws on the knowledge and experience in electricity applied to motorsport from Jaton Racing, a key piece for the Activate 100% Ecopowered became the first electric buggy to finish the Dakar in 2017.
With the idea that EBRO's electric pick-up arrives well prepared for the Dakar 2023, in the next edition the Side by Side will face the roads of Saudi Arabia with the aim of testing the technology and collecting data.
This UTV, which will be driven by the Argentine Ariel Jathon, features a 100% electric powertrain with a power output of 335 CV and 588 Nm of maximum torque. It has a range of 200 kilometers and its batteries are interchangeable, something that will facilitate the task of getting the energy to finish the stages that are more than 400 kilometers long.
It has a system energy recovery and a totally ecological bodywork designed from flax fiber and recyclable resins.
