After confirmation of completion of the Argentine Grand Prix de MotoGP in April 2022, Dorna Sport, Ministry of Sports and Tourism of the NationThrough the National Institute of Tourism Promotion (Inprotur) and the Government of the Province of Santiago del Estero, in conjunction with OSD Group As a local promoter, they signed this Wednesday the new agreement that ensures the holding of the Argentine GP for three more years, for the seasons 2023, 2024 y 2025.
The event took place today at the city of Termas de Río Hondo with the presence of the Minister of Sports and Tourism of the Argentine Republic, Matias Lammens; the Governor of Santiago del Estero, Gerardo Zamora; the Executive Secretary of Inprotur, Ricardo Sosa and the CEO of Grupo OSD, Orlando Newfoundland. While, Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, was present by video call from Austin (United States), where the MotoGP will hold the date 15 of the current season.
The signing of the agreement allows Argentina to continue being the headquarters in Latin America of the world's greatest sports motorcycling show, a union that has lasted since 2014 and has only been interrupted by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
For Argentina's reunion with the MotoGP, Termas de Río Hondo will look renewed, with improvements in its infrastructure and traffic routes, in addition to its wide hotel, gastronomic and service offer.
Meanwhile, the International Circuit will receive the MotoGP with its renovated paddock and new state-of-the-art electronic flagging system, which will increase the security of the competition.
"The renewal of the contract for three seasons with the Argentine Grand Prix is great news for the World Cup because it shows that there is a lot of interest in our sport in this territory", Ezpeleta stated.
While Lammens highlighted: “Few provinces reflect the synergy between tourism and sports like Santiago del Estero does. That is why we are delighted that he is hosting MotoGP again, an event of international prestige that is also going to play an important role in the economic reactivation of the region ”.
Zamora, meanwhile, explained that both Termas de Río Hondo, as a city; and Santiago del Estero, as a province, "They position themselves internationally with this event, which produces a superlative economic impact in northern Argentina."
Terranova, as a local promoter, admitted that "The effort is enormous, but we can carry it forward because we have a great work team headed by Minister Lammens and Governor Zamora." And he added that the MotoGP, "It is an event that allows us to integrate the world."
