How would you spend your 97th birthday? For Lennart Ribring, the answer has been easy: at the wheel of an iconic sports car.
Lennart was born in 1919 when the Ford T had only been in production for 11 years, he obtained his driver's license in 1937 at the age of 18. Now, he has indulged in a new Ford Mustang.
The red sports car, which reaches 249 km / h and 0-100 km / h in 4.8 seconds, occupies a prominent place at the entrance of Lennart's house in Stockholm.
Lennart, who is also a sailing enthusiast, was one of the first buyers of the original 50s Ford Mustang in his country. Now, more than XNUMX years later, he is one of the longest-lived Mustang drivers.
“I fell in love with the first Mustangs and have hardly thought of another car again. You felt like the king of the road, ”says Lennart. "I probably won't have long to live, so I want to take the remaining opportunities to drive and have a little fun."
Lennart is a retired businessman who still works eventually as an accountant and has some advice for those who plan to keep driving when they approach XNUMX.
"I would encourage younger drivers not to be in a rush," says Lennart. "Know your cars well before driving and always think about safety."
