Tesla Motors will take advantage of technology SpaceX, the aerospace manufacturing and space transportation services company that is also owned by Elon Musk, to provide the second generation with Tesla Roadster of a technology that will allow you to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 1,1 second.
The news was confirmed by Musk himself through Twitter in response to a person who asked him if it was true that the Roadster was going to have that acceleration, something that was indicated in an informational poster that is next to a Roadster exhibited in the Petersen Museum.
Demonstrating the versatility of electric power and adding extra distinction to the car's already high performance, the announced SpaceX package will add rear-mounted cold-air rocket boosters to the Roadster, allowing for an acceleration time of 0 to 100 km / h in 1,1 seconds, an unprecedented figure among modern road cars. Musk explained.
This package will significantly improve the acceleration of the Roadster since during its presentation in 2017 it was announced that the model would be able to reach 100 km / h from standstill in 1,9 seconds, in addition to having 1.000 kilometers of autonomy.
The new Tesla Roadster will be available from 2022 at a price of 200.000 dollars, in its standard version. It is estimated that the variant with the Space X package could exceed 250.000 dollars.
