La Chamber of Automotive Commerce (CCA) reported that during the month of May they were sold in the country 155.129 used vehicles. This represents a rise of 8,41% with respect to the same month of 2017 when 143.095 units were marketed.
In the accumulated of the first five months of the year the volume reaches 743.140 units. That is, a growth of 10,11% compared to the same period last year with a sale of 674.911 vehicles. If we compare it with April (142.065 units), the rise reaches 9,20%.
“While national 0km cars continue with their offers, premium imported vehicles, as a result of the increase in the dollar, have risen in category and this has caused them to be out of competition at their current price. It is a very worrying precedent ”, clarified.
Finally he noted: "Our sector will have to rebuild its prices. Despite the volume of cars that are sold, the necessary profitability is not generated for dealers and multi-brands to survive if there are no urgent changes. However, crises are also opportunities for growth ”.
