Smart will present at the Frankfurt Motor Show a new autonomous electric prototype, called EQ fortwo, which becomes the first model of the Daimler group that does not have a steering wheel or pedals and which is oriented to the car sharing service of the future.
This autonomous vehicle represents his vision of urban mobility and also a personalized public transport option, since it picks up passengers directly at the indicated place.
In this way, passengers, by not having to attend to normal driving tasks, can relax in the cabin. Smart indicated that this model meets the company's vision that mobility will be connected, autonomous, shared and electric (CASE).
This autonomous and electric car will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, as part of the EQ product range, through which Mercedes-Benz Cars plans to mass-produce more than ten electric vehicles.
The 2,9-meter-long prototype has a 30-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery and when not occupied it autonomously heads to a charging station to recharge.
