Fernando Alonso in Argentina

Taking advantage of the fact that the Formula 1 circus arrived in South America to contest the Brazilian GP, Chandon invited the Spaniard Fernando Alonso, a McLaren team driver, to spend a few hours in Argentina and have a particular challenge against polo player Facundo Pieres.

The duel was held at the Owners Club in the Buenos Aires town of General Rodríguez. Pieres, polo player from Ellerstina, rode Future Beet; while Alonso accelerated a beautiful Bugatti from 1932. The heads-up was won by the two-time F-1 champion, albeit by a couple of meters.

After the exhibition, Alonso spoke with the press and left these interesting concepts.
