La Formula E had to make changes to his original schedule for Season 7, in which he debuted the status of World awarded by the International Automobile Federation, due to the coronavirus pandemic. It should have postponed its start in January in Santiago de Chile to finally launch his championship in Saudi Arabia at the end of February.
The Chilean appointment now has the date of June 5 and 6 for its two races and Alejandro Agag, founder of the electric single-seater championship, indicated that the intention is to go to Mexico y United States after Chile.
“We are going to try to make all of America at once. It would be nice to cross the Atlantic and do Mexico, Chile and New York. It will be a great effort to control COVID but I think there are good prospects for doing all the dates in America "He said.
Referring specifically to the round in Santiago, Agag added: “Chile is very important, it is a great race for us. There is a great crowd, the stands are always full because the Santiago crowd is fantastic with Formula E. We clearly want to come back. We really want to be in Chile and we hope that we can go very soon when winter approaches there ”.
Formula E is currently enjoying a strong present while in his seventh championship and Agag, who is currently focused on the new championship of Extreme E which he also founded and where he is CEO, recalled the advances of the category in his few years of life.
“When Formula E started you had to use two cars per driver to finish the races, then we managed to continue advancing the technology to eliminate the second car and do the entire race with just one car. And in the next generation there will be an increase in the speed of acceleration, a decrease in the weight of the cars "explained the Spanish executive.
"This shows that Formula E is a laboratory to evolve the technology of these electric cars and make them ultimately better for general adoption by the public, which will be what will really change mobility to a much more sustainable way", he finished.
