The fast-paced street circuit of Jeddah, scene of the first Saudi Arabian Grand Prix de F1, showed his dangerousness during the second free practice in which the Monegasque Charles Leclerc smashed his Ferrari against the retaining wall.

With an average of 250 km/h and without escape routes, the urban track does not forgive excesses. This was reflected in the Leclerc incident, who got out of the car under his own power. The same occurred in the 22nd curve of the track of more than six kilometers and motivated the Red flag with which the session ended.

Charles LeclercOn the sporting side, the man of the day was the English Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), what dominated both workouts. In the first exit to the track the current monarch established 1m29s786; while in the second, carried out at night, it improved with 1m29s018.

The double that Mercedes registered in the second test with Hamilton and the Finn Valtteri Bottas, who was 61/1000 of his teammate, demonstrate the good adaptation of the Black Arrows to the fast track.

Lewis HamiltonThe dutch Max Verstappen (Red Bull), who comes to the front of the competition with eight points ahead of Hamilton, was his escort in practice 1 to 56/1000; while in the next one he was fourth at 195/1000.

For Verstappen the Saudi GP means the first possibility to define the scepter in your favor in advance. To achieve it dHe must take his points difference with Hamilton from 8 to 26. This implies that the 24-year-old driver finishes first or second -which is within his reach- and that his rival finishes far from the first places, which is less likely.

The activity will continue on Saturday with a new free trial and qualification, which will take place at 14 in Argentina.
