Fire at the Termas de Río Hondo racetrack: The museum was completely saved

Only some glass was broken. Work is already underway to reopen its doors in the coming weeks.

The tremendous fire that hit the Rio Hondo Hot Springs International Circuit and that destroyed the entire pit sector barely reached the museum, one of the great tourist attractions of the city of Santiago.

Despite the huge flames, which were unleashed on Saturday night for reasons that are still being investigated, the fire crews concentrated on trying to suffocate it and, at the same time, prevent it from spreading over the bridge that connects the pits with the museum itself. This last strategy paid off.

The cars were evacuated from the Museum during the fire.

“We managed to save 100% everything that is the building part and what are motorcycles and cars. Yes there are some things, like windows, that have been broken, but more than certain that on Tuesday we are already opening "Said Jalo Cano, responsible for the Autodromo Museum of Las Termas de Río Hondo, to New dairy.

“Everyone came to collaborate and thanks to God and that collaboration, we have been able to get everything that are vehicles, showcases, souvenirs, helmets, everything. Everything has been saved 100%, so we are very happy and eager to open as soon as possible "said Cano, who pointed out that more than 40 families depend on the operation of the place.
