The Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya will debut at 24 Hours of Le Mans, which will be played between June 16 and 17 and in which it will compete with the Spanish Fernando Alonso in search of the triple crown of motorsport.
“I have always followed this race so I am very happy to participate in it. I hope we can have the opportunity to win it ”, said Montoya, who will race for the British team United Autosports.
The Colombian driver only needs to add to his medal table a victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans to complete the triple crown of motorsport, since he managed to win the Monaco Grand Prix in 2003, and Indianapolis 500, in the years 2000 and 2015.
Only the british Graham hill he has managed to overcome those three tests that prove the conquest of the motoring crown.
Montoya, used to endurance tests, as he has already won in the 24 Hours of Daytona on three occasions (2007, 2008 and 2013), it will have among its main rivals at Le Mans another illustrious rookie: Alonso, who also pursues Hill's achievement and will race with an official Toyota.
