When talking about 4 × 4 vehicles that have marked an era, the Lada Niva produced in Russia in the late 1990s it occupies a special place. The little off-roader was so successful that General Motors was associated with AvtoVAZ, its creator, to produce its own version: the Chevrolet niva. This alliance, which began in 2003, lasted until a few months ago. However, its culmination was the beginning of a new stage since the model was renewed and in 2021 it will be back on the streets renamed as Lada Niva Travel.
The main difference from the versions of yesteryear is in the front of, which some resemble that of the Toyota RAV4. Now it has a higher hood and new optics, as well as a new wide black grille with the classic chrome Volga boat logo in its center.
The bumper now houses fog lights and includes side skirts and side skirts as standard. This renovation is also in the new alloy wheels, snorkel, and the spare wheel hanging from the tailgate.
Historically, Lada has used FIAT engines for its products. And in the case of the Lada Niva Travel this custom is maintained. It is equipped with the old, but reliable 1.7-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with 83 hp and 129 Nm. The impeller is coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox with reduction gear and, of course, four-wheel drive.
Although the images did not show the interior, the Russian brand assures that it comes with powerful air conditioning, reliable noise and vibration isolation, comfortable seats and a multimedia screen. And security? That is anyone's guess ...
