The latest creation of Lamborghini created especially to accelerate on circuits is already among us. Its about Lamborghini Essenza SCV12, developed by Lamborghini Squadra Corse and designed by the Lamborghini Centro Stile. This hypercar, which will have a production limited to 40 units, is equipped with the 12 cylinder most powerful atmospheric in the history of the brand.
The Essenza SCV12 was born to run exclusively on circuits and has engineering solutions derived from the world of racing. The V12 engine can develop more than 830 CV, thanks also to high speed force feeding. The exhaust pipes, designed in collaboration with Capristo, reduce back pressure and improve performance, as well as offering a unique engine roar.
Power is managed with an unprecedented X-trac 6-speed sequential gearbox, located in the rear axle and combined with the rear-wheel drive, to guarantee compactness, structural continuity and greater torsional rigidity.
Their relationship is also exceptional weight / power, 1,66 kg / hp, thanks to the unprecedented carbon fiber monocoque chassis. The Essenza SCV12 is the first GT designed to comply with the safety standards of the FIA regulations for prototypes.
To offer maximum agility and stability even on the most demanding circuits, they have been adopted mechanical solutions inspired by racing prototypesLike push-rod rear suspension fixed directly to the gearbox.
The equipment is completed by Pirelli's slick tires, specific for this model, shod on 19-inch magnesium wheels on the front and 20 on the rear, with brake discs and calipers signed by Brembo Motorsport.
The aerodynamics is the result of Lamborghini Squadra Corse's experience in GT competitions and guarantees a level of efficiency and downforce higher than that of a GT3, with a value of 1.200 kg at 250 km / h.
The front hood features a double air inlet with a central outlet, typical of racing Huracán, which separates the hot air flows from the radiator and channels the cold air towards the air intake located in the central part of the roof.
As well at the front the splitter and the two lateral appendages stand out; on the sides, the flows for engine cooling and transmission have been optimized with the use of vertical fins located above the door sills. The aerodynamic package is completed by the large, adjustable, dual-profile rear spoiler.
The design of the Essenza SCV12 is the fruit of the creative work of the Lamborghini Centro Stile, which, since the founding of Squadra Corse, has designed all Sant'Agata Bolognese race cars.
The essential character of the vehicle is underlined by the body structure, made up of just three elements to allow quick shifting during pit stops. Launch colors in Verde Selvans, Grigio Lynx (Gray), Nero Aldebaran Gloss (black) and Arancio California (orange) are complemented by the names of the Lamborghini Squadra Corse partner brands: Pertamina, Pirelli and Roger Dubuis.
Its sleek lines, while energetic and dynamic, combine the charm of the prototypes of the seventies and elements of Lamborghini's DNA, such as the hexagonal geometry of the headlights, the air intake located in the roof and the scoops. vents that frame the steering wheel.
Also unmistakable is the “Y” shape, a design signature that is reproduced in the bodywork and in the passenger compartment, where each element represents the best combination of lightness, functionality and design. The dashboard and instrumentation are supported by an asymmetric carbon “Y”, a supporting and stylistic element that frames the cockpit, designed so that the pilot is the protagonist of an absolute driving experience.
Design multifunction steering wheel with display is inspired by the steering wheels of the cars of F1 to offer maximum ergonomics and convey pure sensations; the exclusive OMP seat, with FIA homologation, with carbon fiber shell hugs the rider to provide comfort, safety and stability.
Essenza SCV12 customers will become part of a exclusive club that will give them access to driving programs so that they can pilot their hypercar on the most prestigious circuits in the world.
The program includes custody service in a new hangar made in Sant'Agata Bolognese for the Essenza SCV12 club. Each vehicle will have a personalized box and dedicated services, such as a webcam so that the customer can observe their car 24 hours a day through an application. Complete the program on Lamborghini Squadra Corse Drivers Lab, developed in collaboration with the Italian company Tecnobody, to offer physical preparation programs similar to those followed by official Lamborghini drivers.
The circuit testing calendar will begin in 2021 with “arrive and drive” events, on circuits with FIA Grade 1 homologation. Assistance is provided by the Squadra Corse technical team with the help of Emanuele Pirro, five-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and exceptional advisor for customer-drivers, and of Marco Mapelli, Official Lamborghini Squadra Corse driver.
