Automobili Lamborghini presented the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4- A futuristic limited edition recreated for the XNUMXst century that pays homage to the iconic spirit of the Countach, which broke all design rules and integrated revolutionary technology.
Its purist forms are immediately recognizable by its respect for the lines of the Countach: the father of modern supercars and Lamborghini design.
The new Countach rides a naturally aspirated V12 engine de 6.5 liters mounted in the “Longitudinale Posteriore” (LP) position that works in conjunction with the hybrid technology (I) developed for the Sian based on a 48 volt electric motor.
With a combined maximum power of 814 CV (rounded to 800 in its name), which come from its atmospheric propeller (780 CV) and its electric motor (34 CV) and transmitted to a system of permanent four-wheel drive, the LPI 800-4 develops the performance typical of a Lamborghini, with an acceleration of 0 to 100 km / h in just 2,8 seconds, 0 to 200 km / h in 8,6 seconds and a maximum speed of 355 km / h.
La distinctive silhouette of the revamped Countach, with an essential line that runs from front to back, the sharp angles and lines and the characteristic wedge shape revolutionized the design of modern supercars, as well as of the following Lamborghini models. The Countach LPI 800-4 develops the characteristic lines of the five generations of the Countach throughout its almost 20 years of existence, concentrated in the purest expression of the most iconic automotive design.
The final image is pure and uncluttered, with nods to the first production version LP 500 and LP 400. To give the LPI 800-4 its distinctive Countach front end, it is inspired by the Quattrovalvole edition with the powerful lines on the front hood, the long and low rectangular grille and the headlights, as well as the hexagonal-shaped wheel arches.
La marked inclination of the passenger compartment it adopts straight lines reminiscent of the original Countach, along with the muscular and clean front and rear lines. There is no fixed rear wing that is out of tune in the purity of its lines and the air intakes blend perfectly into the muscular shoulders of the car, adorned with the distinctive “gills” of the Countach.
The iconic and aerodynamic NACA type air intakes make their way into the side and doors of the Countach LPI 800-4, while the distinctive “Periscope” lines that run across the roof to the rear of the car, especially distinctive when viewed from above, appear to float towards the rear. rear of the car.
The rear of the Countach LPI 800-4 is immediately recognizable by its distinctive inverted wedge shape, with the rear bumper featuring a sleeker, lower line, and the "hexagon" design that shapes the three-split rear light clusters. parts. The LPI 800-4 sports the four exhaust pipes of the Countach family, connected within the carbon fiber rear diffuser. Access for the driver and passenger is, of course, via the famous scissor doors, first introduced on the Countach and which have become a signature of Lamborghini V12s.
The monocoque chassis and all body panels are made of carbon fiber, which provides an optimal solution of lightness, as well as exceptional torsional rigidity: the Countach LPI 800-4 has a curb weight of 1.595 kg, so its weight / power ratio is 1,95 kg / hp.
The visible carbon fiber elements of the exterior can be seen in the front splitter, around the windshield and the rear-view mirrors, the air intakes of the engine hood and the side sills, also having a presence in specific details of the interior. The mobile airvents, made with state-of-the-art 3D printing technology, and a photochromic roof - which changes from opaque to transparent at the push of a button - remind that this car, despite its historical inspiration, will be remembered as one of the myths. automobile of the XXI century.
The interior is also inspired by the design of the original Countach, adapted to a modern car. Classic, luxurious leather features geometric stitching on both the specifically designed comfortable seats and dashboard, with square accents that reference the bold styling and optimism of '70s design and technology.
A 8,4 ″ HDMI center touch screenExclusive to the LPI 800-4, it allows you to manage the car's controls, including connectivity and Apple CarPlay. It also includes the exclusive “Stile” button: when pressed, it explains the Countach's design philosophy to its privileged audience.
Produced in a limited edition to 112 units, the number denotes the name of the LP 112 in-house project used during the development of the original Lamborghini Countach. The first units of the Countach LPI 800-4 will be delivered from the first quarter of 2022.
