Lewis Hamilton makes sure to start the sprint of the British GP

Mercedes' Englishman narrowly led the standings over Red Bull's Max Verstappen.

With a clenched fist and screaming, the English Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) celebrated having been the fastest in the qualifying tests of the Grand Prix of Great Britain, tenth date of the World Cup F1 that takes place this weekend in the circuit of Silverstone.

Thanks to this result, the multiple champion made sure to start from the first place in the sprint race which will be held on Saturday, from 12.30 in Argentina, to define the starting grid for Sunday's GP.

It is the first time that F.1 uses this type of format to define the starting order of a competition and, consequently, the winner will be the author of the pole position, in addition to receive three points for the championship. The second and third, meanwhile, will be awarded 2 and 1 units, respectively.

For the English it was a small battle won in the fight for the title that he maintains with Max Verstappen (Red Bull) as it relegated it to second place by 75/1000.
