British manufacturer Lotus presented the Lotus Exige Cup 430 Type 25 a special edition, which honors the Lotus Type 25 who competed in the F1 in the mid-60s.
The Lotus Type 25 was the first F.1 car with a monocoque chassis, a preview that was later replicated by the rest of the teams. It raced between 1962 and 1967 in the hands of famous pilots such as Jim Clark, Chris Amon, Mike Hailwood y Richard Attwood. In that five years he played 50 Grand Prix and achieved 14 victories.
The Exige Cup 430 Type 25 comes in colors Lotus Racing Green o Old English White, with yellow accents that refer to the cockpit of the race car. The interior is covered in black Alcantara, with some color trimmed pieces to match the exterior. The special edition also has a wooden shift knob, like the one used on the original Type 25.
Like other Exige models, it is equipped with a 6-liter supercharged V3.5 engine that produces 430 horsepower, power that is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.
Lotus estimates that the Exige Cup 430 Type 25 can go from 0 to 100 km / h in 3,2 seconds, while its top speed is around 290 km / h.
