Through the economic boost of the Chinese giant Geely, its brand new owner, Lotus works on a new model that is internally known as "Omega Project". Is a super sports car that will have electric propulsion and a price of more than two million euros.

The design is done at Lotus headquarters in Norfolk, England; while production could take place in China since Geely decided that future vehicles of the brand are produced in a new factory located in the Chinese town of Wuhan.

It is estimated that the Lotus super sports car will be presented in society during the course of this year. There is no doubt about something, the Omega Project will be the fastest, most expensive and most radical model manufactured by the company in its 70-year history.

To achieve a vehicle that is a benchmark in the segment, Lotus partnered with Williams Advanced Engineering, who will be in charge of the development of a fully electric powertrain with 1.000 hp power.

The goal is for this new model to have a autonomy of 400 kilometers and for that it would not be ruled out to use a system regenerative braking that takes advantage of the energy that is lost in a car of these characteristics when it reduces its speed.

Today the Lotus range is essentially made up of Evora, Exige y Elise and has sold a total of 1.630 units worldwide.
