“Normally the goal before each season is to win the championship, but this year it is completely different. My main goal is to enjoy riding the bike again and then, step by step, start to be as fast as I was, but after a year without getting on the bike I can't hope to be the same Marc as soon as I arrive ”, explained Márquez in the virtual presentation of the team.

Marc MárquezIn this sense, he recalled that it is "the first time" in all his sports career that has been "Nine or ten months without competing" because of his injury and that, when he returns, he will not be "one hundred percent".

“One thing is to be one hundred percent at bone level and another is the muscles. Of course I hope for the best possible lap, get on the bike and be the same as always at the moment, but it will be difficult for that to happen. We'll see if it costs me a race, two races or half a season to be the same again ”, valued.

However, he advanced that he feels better and better and that the recovery is going well. "That is the most important. Every time I see the doctor he gives me good news and that is important after such a hard year. Now I just try to follow my body, gradually increasing the work at home with the help of the physios, but neither the doctors nor I know when I will be ready to return. The important thing is every week I feel better and I'm optimistic about getting on the bike as soon as possible, but I don't know exactly what day it will be ”, reiterated.

Marc MárquezFinally, he referred to his new teammate, his compatriot Pol Espargaro, with whom he will meet again after a long time: "When I was 11 years old it was the first time we were teammates in the RACC Impala in the Catalan 125cc championship. He was champion and I was second or third, I don't remember. Then we parted ways and now, after so long, we are teammates again ”.
