The Spanish Maverick Vinales and equipment Yamaha de MotoGP have reached an agreement to terminate their contract early at the end of this season at the initiative of the pilot himself.
"At the request of Maverick Viñales, Yamaha agrees to terminate their current two-year contract early."The team said in a statement on Monday. "In their fifth season together, they have decided to separate their paths after this championship"added the note.
Viñales had renewed in January 2020 for two years with the Japanese team, which he arrived in 2017. In his first year with the fingerboard brand's team, the Spaniard was third in the MotoGP World Championship and in 2019, as well as fourth in 2018, while in 2020 he finished sixth.
