Mercedes-Benz continues to unveil data from the Mercedes-AMG Project One, the hyper sports car that will feature technology derived from the brand's experience in Formula 1.
The super car will have five engines, no less. The main one will be precisely the one that equips the Silver Arrows in the Maximum: the 1.6 V6 supercharged by turbo that will reach 11.000 RPM, slightly less than the 14.500 laps that are reached in the F.1.
This power plant, which will deliver about 700 hp, will be associated with a small electrical block that will avoid delay and will allow all the power and pushing force to be available at all times.
Each front wheel will also have its own electric motor; while the fifth impeller will be on the crankshaft. The entire powertrain would allow the Mercedes-AMG Project One to reach a power of 1.000 hp.
The electric motors will get their energy from 800-volt batteries, which are four times bigger than those of the F.1 (they weigh 99 kilos). In electric mode, the sports car will use front-wheel drive with 240 hp and its autonomy will be close to 30 kilometers.
The Mercedes-AMG Project One will have a limited production of 275 units, which will be delivered between 2018 and 2020 at a price of 2,25 million euros.
