Michelin tires will be 100% sustainable by 2050

El grupo Michelin announced its commitment that its tires are 100% sustainable by the year 2050. To meet this objective it will be based on the prototype Vision, an airless, connected, rechargeable and eco-friendly rubber model introduced in 2017.

Michelin VisionCurrently, tires manufactured by Michelin already contain around 30% natural, recycled or sustainable raw materials.

“A Michelin tire is a high-tech product made up of more than 200 ingredients. The main element is natural rubber, but we also find synthetic rubber, metal, fibers and other components that reinforce the structure ", has explained the firm.

As indicated by the company, combined in a "ideal", these materials interact to offer the balance "optimum" between performance, drivability and safety, while reducing the environmental impact of the tire.
