On March 10, within the activities stipulated as National Rally Week as a tribute to the 20 years since the death of Jorge Raúl Recalde, the mayor of Clavero Mine, Claudio manzanelli, announced that this Thursday he presented at the opening of the Deliberative Council, the request for the transfer of five lots to be able to build the Rally Museum in that city that will bear the name of the remembered driver.
These lands are located in the Jorge Raúl Recalde Route, at the entrance of the mountain city next to the Secretary of Tourism, a strategic place for being the entrance of the whole Traslasierras Valley, and that, without a doubt, will mean an important tourist attraction that adds to the variety that this region of Córdoba already presents in this matter.
“We are convinced that the contribution that the city makes in this donation will be of great use to us in terms of tourism, beyond what the name of Jorge Recalde means in terms of sport. His work has been very important. Mina Clavero became known in the world thanks to his sporting ability and we think it is good to give back a little for everything he has done for our Mina Clavero. The House Museum that already has the support of the Municipality has exceeded our expectations in terms of the influx of public and we believe that when the work is completed, all this will be strengthened and will be beneficial for the entire region ", pointed out the Manzanelli.
For its part, the president of the Jorge Raúl Recalde Foundation, Maria Alejandra Recalde, valued the initiative of the municipality: “This is excellent news. We have been looking for it and working for a long time with the foundation that was conceived mainly to achieve the museum. It is a very important step because this allows us to start working on what will be the construction of it, which will be another great task. We want to thank the mayor for everything he has been doing for the foundation and this announcement renews our strength to move forward with more force to reach the goal of creating the Rally Museum, which we believe will be an icon for the area ”.
The family and friends of Jorge Recalde were present at the event, as well as Jorge “El Bicho” Del Buono, one of its historical navigators, who discovered a plaque in honor of the Condor of Traslasierras.
