Slovenians are also listed as candidates Tim gasjer (Team HRC), winner in 2016 and 2017, the German Max nagl (KTM Sarholz Racing Team), who won on the first visit to southern Argentina in 2015; the belgian Clement Desalle (Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team) and the French Romain Febvre (Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Team).

The great absentee will be nothing less than the champion of the specialty: Jeffrey herlings (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), who suffered a foot injury a few weeks ago. The Dutchman won the Argentine event last year after a memorable finish with his teammate Cairoli. While the Lithuanian Pauls jonass, winner of the last two editions in Argentina in the MX2, will debut in 2019 in the highest category.

In the MX2, the current monarch of the specialty, the Spanish, stands out Jorge Prado (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), the Danish Thomas Kjer Olsen (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing) and English Ben watson (Monster Energy Kemea Yamaha MX2 Team), among others.

A dozen compatriots registered for the 5th edition of the MXGP Patagonia Argentina, of which seven will do so in the MXGP and five in the MX2, although they will finally be from game nine. The main exponent is Joaquin Poli (Honda), multiple Argentine MX champion and one of the best performers in recent MXGP visits to the country. In the higher category they will also compete  Juan Pablo Luzzardi (KTM), Victor Garrido (Honda) and Lautaro toro (Husqvarna),  Gaston Barreyra (Kawasaki) and the brothers  Joaquin and Jeremias Fernandez (both Suzuki), signed up, but will not be present.

While in MX2 they will represent us Agustin Carrasco (Kawasaki), Luciano Righi (Husqvarna), Nicolas Mana (KTM), Gonzalo Diaz Veles (Honda) and Matthew Bearzi (Husqvarna).


El Patagonia Race Track, located on the property of Coihues Rugby Club and recognized since joining the World Cup in 2015 in the MXGP Awards as the best track on the calendar, it will once again be the scene of the MXGP Patagonia Argentina.

This circuit, designed by Lucas de la Fuente, It is mounted on a sand base that was mixed with volcanic ash and combines natural unevenness with flat sections where plateaus and large waterfalls were built. There are also natural ridges and some wave areas, wide curves and many jumps, some quite technical and others very high.

The lakes, mountains, generous forests and pure air of Patagonia are the perfect environment, giving it a unique setting that differentiates it from the rest of the routes visited by the World Cup.

El Saturday The circuit doors will open at 6 am. The activity on the track will begin at 10.45 am and will continue until 14 pm with free practice. At 15.15 the qualifying rounds will begin that will define in which position the riders will start the next day.

El Sunday The public will also be allowed to enter at 6. The pilots will take to the track from 10.25 am during the Warm Up. 12.15 or 15 MX2 races will start and at 13.05 or 16, those of MXGP. The sum of points from both competitions will define the winners of the 2019 edition in Patagonia Argentina.


In conjunction with the Municipality of Villa La Angostura was made available to all those who carry tickets and / or VIP wristbands a free shuttle service. They will operate on Saturday and Sunday from 6 am and will depart from the city center in the Municipal Gym (Las Raspuesas and Cerro Bayo) towards the Patagonia Race Track and, from there, towards the Villa.
