Nissan Frontier Attack Concept: Inspired by monster trucks

Nissan defies the established limits and presents a new pick-up that will make people talk. This is the exclusive Nissan Frontier Attack, a concept of its iconic pick-up, Nissan Frontier, inspired by the most extreme and imposing “monster-trucks”.

Developed and produced especially for the 2017 Buenos Aires International Auto Show, the Frontier Attack concept pick-up features a more robust and equipped revolutionary design, which pick-up lovers cannot resist.

The exterior of the new Frontier in its Attack version leaves no doubt about its provocative instinct, and stands out for having a coloration made up of two intense and challenging tones: bright red and chrome black.

In addition, it has lights with a black mask, running boards, bars and luggage rack with the model name and mirrors in gray. You can also see the name of the version in the side sector, the painted 17-inch wheels and the chrome rear bumper.

The interior, in the same way, continues with this chromatic line and exhibits gray appliqués in the center console, seats and steering wheel covered in black leather and red finishes, as well as the dashboard and the gear lever. With regard to size, the new pick-up stands out for a 40mm rise in relation to the Frontier which, added to a larger size of its tires and wheels, imposes a presence like few other pick-ups on the market.

The Nissan Frontier Attack tackles the ruggedness of the off-road road with power, but also with intelligence. Life on board has improved thanks to technology. With the turn of a knob, four-wheel drive can be engaged, allowing traction change on the go.

The VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) system helps improve the performance and safety of 4-wheel drive. The system continuously monitors the steering and brakes, detects any oversteer or understeer, and slows the engine and / or applies the brakes on certain wheels to compensate. In other words, electronically, it controls the traction of the vehicle avoiding skidding, rolling over, or loss of control. Likewise, the VDC system is combined with other technologies such as ABLS. It is a Skid Brake Activation system that further improves maneuverability in difficult situations.

The Nissan Frontier Attack features a new Infoteinment system called the Nissan Multi-App that includes a latest generation 6.2 ”touchscreen GPS navigator, apps (like Waze and Spotify), Bluetooth, navigation and music streaming. All of this is part of the Nissan Intelligent Driving strategy within the promise of Nissan Intelligent Mobility.

The Attack concept, like the Frontier pick-up, maintains the 2.3l Euro 5 diesel engine with 190 CV and 450 NM of torque, associated with a 6-speed manual gearbox; and the MULTILINK rear suspension with a rigid axle, unique in the mid-size pick-up segment. The efficiency and balance of the 2.3l engine in relation to displacement, power and torque stands out. It achieves a higher "Maximum Torque" at lower RPM, being an excellent option in the market. - Maximum torque between 1.500 and 2.500 RPM.

In addition, this pick-up integrates Nissan's vision for the future: Intelligent Mobility, created to guide product evolution and provide customers around the world with a safer and more sustainable future. In this sense, the Nissan Frontier Attack Concept incorporates two hillside assistance systems: The HSA (Hill Start Assist) system allows the vehicle to stop on an inclined plane and to be able to start off without the risk that it will go to back by keeping the brakes applied for up to 2 seconds after releasing the brake pedal.

And the HDC (Hill Descent Control), which when activated has the ability to control the speed of descent between 4 km / h (4 x4 LOW) and 7 km / h (4 x 4 High) intervening in the braking system to allow the driver to fully concentrate on vehicle control.
