Ford Argentina held the second edition of the #RangerExperience in the province of Mendoza, one of the main tourist centers in Argentina, whose nature and off-road roads were the ideal context to fully experience all the power, robustness, technology and versatility of the Ford pick-up.
All the products of the Ranger line proved once again to be up to the demands of the natural terrain of Provincial Route 13, with stones, steep slopes and slopes and precipices, among other challenges.
Ford Argentina offered the guests the exclusive three-hour theoretical course on 4 × 4 driving techniques and safety for all terrains with content and evaluation endorsed by the Agencia Nacional de Seguridad Vial and the NGO Creating Urban Consciousness.
It is the first course of its kind to be recognized by a State entity and Ford Argentina is the first carmaker to begin to amplify its existence. Those participants who passed the final exam were certified by these institutions as off-road drivers.
In this way, Ford Argentina initiated the new concept Ford Off-Roaders, as part of its concern for road safety and in its initiative to continue creating experience platforms with its reference vehicles.
Among the guests of the #RangerExperience were fanatic members of the Ranger Club, who attended from different parts of the country and participated in all the activities offered by Ford.
In this new edition, the participants not only had to drive through challenging terrain, but also participated in a photography contest. The guests, organized in teams of up to three participants per truck, received a roadbook, with photographs of different stops along the RP N ° 13.
Each photo-stop (known in the activity as a way-point) had an assigned value. Teams had to strategically select five waypoints to take their photos and travel to them using a strategy to be on time. At the end of the journey, in the city of Uspallata, the teams handed over the photos to the organizers, who evaluated the photos and awarded prizes to the teams with the highest scores.
Crossing the Potrerillos dikes along National Route 7, the final destination of the route was Wine Rock Tour 2018 at the Monteviejo Winery, by the prominent winemaker Marcelo Pelleriti, where the Wine Rock 2018 was held, an event recognized for uniting good wine and the greatest exponents of rock in an amazing context with the vineyards of the picturesque Uco Valley region as witnesses .
The entire Ranger range features stability and traction control, hill start assist, adaptive load control and roll control, providing maximum safety for all occupants.
Versions Limited and XLT Diesel incorporated in 2017 the renowned SYNC 3, the evolution of Ford's connectivity system that allows the integration of a smartphone and access to navigation, messaging and music applications more easily. Compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, this innovative system allows quick and intuitive control of all functions with capabilities similar to that of a smart cell phone, adding safety and operating comfort.
When it comes to motorization, the renowned motor PUMA 2.2L recently increased its performance, raising the available power to 150HP and 375Nm and incorporating the variable geometry turbocharger. In addition, both the XL 4 × 2 and the single or double cabin 4 × 4 are compatible with the incorporation of CNG.
