Addition 208 Peugeot Racing Cup y 308 Peugeot Racing Cup, which continue to be marketed, Peugeot Sport deploys all its know-how and strengthens its range of models for circuit competitions with the new Peugeot 308 TCR.
The chassis, engine, gearbox and aerodynamics of this sporty version of the Peugeot 308 respect both the TCR regulations and the regulations of international passenger car racing such as the VLN (Germany), the CER (Spain), the CITE ( Italy) or the BGDC (Belgium), and that of the endurance championships, such as the 24H Series.
The THP engine has a robust base, which has already proven its ability to ensure high power per liter of displacement. Extensive work on intake, exhaust and supercharging has made it possible for the turbocharged 4-cylinder block to develop 350 hp at a torque of 420 Nm from 3.000 rpm, also having potential to cover 5.000 km, which is twice what it takes to complete a WTCR season.
With regard to the transmission, the Peugeot 308 TCR has a specific six-speed sequential gearbox, with paddles on the steering wheel, reinforced compared to the one equipped with the Peugeot 308 Racing Cup.
Thanks to a very significant widening of the tracks and a specific suspension design, with adjustable stabilizer bars on both axles and fully articulated elements, the Peugeot 308 TCR has a front axle with great potential when entering the curve and a rear axle that fits like a glove.
As for the braking system, the Peugeot 308 TCR is well equipped, with ventilated discs Ø 378 × 34 mm with 6-piston calipers at the front and Ø 270 × 12 mm discs, fitted with 2-piston calipers, at the rear.
A new set of pedals, totally "racing", provides the driver with everything he needs to control this vehicle perfectly.
The result of a joint effort between the Peugeot Sport engineers and the designers of the Peugeot Style Center, the bodywork of the new Peugeot 308TCR combines, under an athletic appearance, optimized aerodynamics, thanks, above all, to extensive development work in CFD, and an impressive design.
The front bumper allows to perfectly feed the air flows to the radiator and the air-air exchanger, as a guarantee of performance and reliability, while the splitter generates a maximum of support, essential to achieve good steering stability. At the rear, the bumper is topped by a wide extractor, which is responsible for generating aerodynamic support in the rear axle.
The aesthetics of this vehicle are completed by exclusive 18 ″ wheels, fitted with 27-65 / 18 tires. The price of the Peugeot 308 TCR is 109.000 euros more taxation.
