Peugeot Design Lab dive back into the world of two wheels to create the concept bike Peugeot Cycles DL121, a graphic investigation exercise that focuses on colors and materials.
Produced as a limited series, the DL121 is somewhere between art and functionality.
El aluminum shows its technical and aesthetic versatility on this bike, in which the contrast between copper tones and white creates an unprecedented perspective on an everyday object.
The Peugeot Cycles DL121 arises from a reflection on contrast. On the one hand, the contrast between functionality and aesthetics, since it combines a refined treatment of colors and materials in a conventionally designed bicycle.
On the other, play with the contrast of the finishes. The design uses a dynamic and diagonal separation between the two halves of the bike: the front part has a coppery tone, while the rear is painted white.
The DL121 has a innovative leather work, inspired by the universe of travel items. In addition to the saddle, this material also covers a luggage area cleverly integrated into the frame.
The bike does not renounce practicality: a double zipper allows easy access to this bag, in which compact objects such as a digital tablet can be transported.
With this design, which unites tradition and avant-garde, the Peugeot Design Lab pays tribute to Peugeot's long relationship with the world of cycling, begun in 1885 and marked with triumphs in the Tour de Francia and the great classics of the world calendar.
