In the next Geneva Motor Show will be presented Peugeot Rifter 4 × 4 Concept, a vehicle with unique style, impactful and determined that is designed for adventure on all terrains.
The aesthetics of this show-car of the French brand is illuminated with numerous, very graphic touches, in satin anodized yellow, present in various points of its silhouette.
A matte black trim, located between the grille and the bonnet, effectively protects the front of the vehicle against projections and splashes. With its tailgate, also in matt black, the Peugeot Rifter 4 × 4 Concept is solidly surrounded.
Various elements in Onyx black, present, as in the series vehicle, on the rear-view mirrors, the grille or the roof bars, complete its unique style. 16-inch black diamond-painted Onyx wheels reinforce its character.
The game between colors and materials is also present in the interior. The specific seats, with the letters Rifter, they combine a gray chiné fabric embossed with a black alcantara. They are stitched in a bright yellow color, which is also present on the gear lever gaiter. Some yellow piping, in “flex” material of the “neoprene” type, recall the touches of color on the bodywork.
The leather steering wheel of the Peugeot i-Cockpit it also has yellow stitching and has the Peugeot lettering engraved in the same tone. The clean design of the dashboard incorporates satin gray trim and takes up the same smoked chrome stripes that can be seen on the exterior.
Wide moldings, made of solid aluminum, reinforce the style of the center console and the door panels. The brushed metal reveals the Rifter name, playing with surfaces and reflections.
The Peugeot Rifter 4 × 4 Concept is much more than an expression of style: it opens a path to new horizons. It's just as comfortable on sand, mud, snow, or rocky roads.
It has an integral transmission developed by Dangel, a company historically associated with the brand and a recognized specialist in transformations to incorporate four-wheel drive. The ground clearance of the Peugeot Rifter 4 × 4 Concept has been increased by 80 millimeters, allowing it to overcome most obstacles.
The 4 × 4 transmission is carried out by means of a viscous coupling differential and comes into action through a selector, located within arm's reach, on the dashboard, to the right of the gear lever. You can choose between three driving modes:
-The 2RM mode, which allows you to roll with front-wheel drive on a daily basis.
-The 4RM mode, in which the transmission takes care of itself to send power to the rear wheels, in case of loss of motion.
-Lock mode, to lock the rear bridge, useful for overcoming extreme obstacles and for crossing bridges.
The efficiency of the four-wheel drive is reinforced by high-performance tires provided by BF Goodrich that combine strength, durability and aesthetics, as well as offering excellent traction.
The steepest slopes will no longer be an obstacle. Its BlueHDi 130 engine, associated with a 6-speed manual gearbox, develops a comfortable torque of 300 Nm. Together with the Peugeot i-Cockpit, this drive chain endows the Rifter 4 × 4 Concept with precise handling and unprecedented driving pleasure, on any terrain.
Away from the city lights, the Peugeot Rifter 4 × 4 Concept can have a strip of LED lights located at the top of the windshield. Curved and 1,35 m wide, it is made up of 100 LEDs spread over two rows, achieving an impressive total power of 300 W.
The adventure does not stop with the sunset: the Peugeot Rifter 4 × 4 Concept is equipped with a overland tent, developed in collaboration with the specialized company Autohome.
At dawn, the mountain bike Peugeot eM02 F2 Powertube take over to prolong the adventure. This electrically assisted off-road bike is the forerunner of the next generation of eBikes signed by the Leon brand. Its compact battery, integrated into the frame, gives it a fluid and elegant style. Versatile thanks to its double suspension, it is the ideal companion on demanding mountain tours.
It can be stored in a support designed for the hitch of trailers and accessories, which has a removable ball joint without tools. Its satin anodized yellow color, identical to the hints of color on the vehicle, contrasts, in a subtle way, with the matte black hatchback.
The Peugeot Rifter 4 × 4 Concept opens a new way to experience sensations close to the stars.
