What will the first electric vehicle in Argentina be like?

Electric vehicle

The Argentine technology company VOLT motors advances in the production of the first national electric vehicle, which will be available for the last quarter of 2018.

The model will initially cost around US $ 12, will have capacity for two adult passengers, plus two minors and an approximate autonomy of 150 kilometers. It will be produced through cells distributed in the main cities of Latin America and will be marketed through e-commerce.

VOLT motors is the first company with 100% national capital specialized in the development of technological solutions for the logistics of people and is based in Ciudad Empresarial, Córdoba.

Its first vehicle, a regional city car that is in the pre-series stage, will reach a speed close to 90 km / h (electronically limited) with an optional upgrade that will allow it to increase it to 120 km / h. The model will have the ability to be recharged from any household outlet (220V), without the need for special infrastructure.

The car is made up of a monocoque of composite materials, similar to those used in aerospace technology and high-end exclusive series vehicles. It contains lithium batteries that can be fully charged at home in a maximum time of 6 hours. Optionally, a fast charge of up to 80% of its autonomy can be achieved in just 30 minutes using a super charger.

Since the vehicle has a minimum amount of mechanical parts, its maintenance cost is reduced by 95% compared to a conventional car, while the operating cost (cost of energy for its use compared to the cost of fuel of a traditional vehicle) is reduced by 85%.

In addition, it will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology, with comprehensive centralized command control on a central touch screen, state-of-the-art browsers, connection to the IoT by Webee ecosystem, parking cameras, among others.

Its commercialization will be completely disruptive since it is planned to be carried out entirely through the Internet. The production and delivery of the cars will be carried out through cells strategically distributed as demand progresses. Initially, they will be located in Córdoba, Buenos Aires, Rosario and Cuyo, to later expand to the rest of the country and Latin America.

In a stage of market maturation, that is, in the next 5 years, each cell will be able to manufacture around 3.000 units per year and employ up to 400 people directly and indirectly.
