In parallel with the preparation to stop the rally Dakar 2022, Prodrive will face an ambitious project: create a street version of the Hunter, the off-road vehicle that the team debuted this year BRX and with which he got the fifth place in his debut in the career of the hand of the Spanish Nani Roma.
The base will be the same career Hunter, which was designed by Ian Callum, although it will have a wider body to use larger wheels, something that in the Dakarian version cannot be used for regulatory reasons.
The same dimensions, suspension scheme and structure of the original Hunter will be maintained. It will also have the same powerplant: a Ford V6 3.5-liter biturbo engine that Prodrive led to 400 CV, although it may have more power to position the vehicle as an off-road hypercar.
"When we first came up with the idea of a road car, we were thinking of building a new version.cafeinada, but since January we decided to go the other way, giving it more power, una sophisticated transmission and a fully redesigned because clearly it has to be more comfortable than the Dakar cars ", I explain David Richards, owner of Prodrive, to Coach.
"No one has ever made a car like this before. Imaginenbe a road car capable of traversing the sand dunes at 160 km / h and continue to do so for 500 kilometers because the fuel tank is too big. It's going to be very exciting ", added.
The first prototype of the street Hunter would be ready by the end of this year and Prodrive hopes to sell them to just over a million dollars.
