The coronavirus pandemic forced the cancellation of the 2020 edition of the Morocco Rally, one of the most traditional off-road races and a regular preparatory test with a view to the Dakar in January. However, its organizers decided to bring their spirit to the European continent through the Andalusia Rally, which will leave tomorrow and will run until Saturday.
This test will feature five compatriots: three elite riders on motorcycles and two sailors on cars. Salteños will compete on the two wheels Kevin y Luciano Benavides, the first as a member of the official team Honda and the second in his debut as a member of Husqvarna. In addition, the Mendoza franc Caimi will be on top of a Yamaha official.

To access the service park for the first time, all the people accredited by the organization presented a negative COVID test carried out 72 hours before their entry.
During the development of the competition, respect for social distancing and the use of a mask and visor will be mandatory in certain circumstances. Furthermore, contact between competitors, members of the organization and the media will be kept to a strict minimum. During the duration of the rally, an “anti-covid” team will be responsible for ensuring that all measures are strictly adhered to.
The tour will allow competitors to discover Andalusia in a unique way. The whitewashed villages that dot the slopes, the rich architectural heritage and the miles of tracks that run alongside the olive groves will offer participants a total immersion in the local culture.
Arranged in loops around Villamartín and the Hacienda El Rosalejo, the action will begin on October 6 with a 9-kilometer prologue for motorcycles and quads. The cars / SSVs will attack the same track the next morning before all competitors start the first stage on October 7.
In total the competitors will cover 1.250 kilometers, of which 921 kilometers They are from the selective sector, with 74% of the total distance against the clock. The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, after the fourth stage.
