Rally Argentina: "It's a cancellation that hurts"

Through a press release, the organization of the Rally Argentina confirmed the advance of Automundo: The 40th edition of the date valid for the World of the specialty changed its status from postponed to canceled.

In March, in the context of the seriousness of the pandemic of coronavirus, the competition that was to be held between April 23 and 26 in the province Cordova it should have been postponed.

From that moment on and throughout this time, the race organization worked closely with the WRC promoter, the FIA ​​and the Automóvil Club Argentino (ACA) in order to identify a possible new event date.

“It is a cancellation that hurts us. It is sad not to be able to celebrate the 40th edition this year. Rally Argentina is very important to us. We hope to have a rematch in 2021 ", explained the Engineer Carlos García Remohí, President of the Automobile Sports Commission of the ACA.

While David eli, general coordinator of the rally, added: “I am sorry for this cancellation as much as our fans. We did our best to preserve the rally this year, but we were not unscathed by this pandemic either. I want to thank the sponsors who accompanied us this year, the government authorities who had pledged their support as every year, the members of the organization for all their work and dedication; and tell them that we are already working hard for the 2021 edition, which will allow us to celebrate the 40th edition, as we had planned this year ”.
