For the 2021 season of the F1 equipment Red Bull will have two very strong drivers: The Dutch Max Verstappen, his big star since 2016; and the mexican Sergio Pérez, who left Racing Point through the big door by being fourth in the 2020 tournament and winning a Grand Prize.

The arrival of Czech, who replaces the Thai Alex Albon, was taken as something positive by Verstappen, who considers it necessary to have a fast partner to try to beat the pilots of Mercedes, English Lewis Hamilton and the finnish Valtteri Bottas.

Max Verstappen and Checo Pérez“Pérez had a great season. He did a great job for the good car he had. He will bring more experience to the team. I am excited to work together. He's a nice guy. I hope that with both cars we can make it more difficult for Mercedes ”explained the Dutchman during the virtual gala of the International Automobile Federation.

Verstappen also admitted that he had an opinion on the hiring of the Aztec. “I just gave my honest opinion. It was pretty clear throughout the year that it was quite difficult for Alex (Albon). He's a great guy and honestly I'm glad he's part of the team. But in the end Helmut (Marko), Christian (Horner) and Dietrich (Mateschitz) are the ones who make the decisions. Of course, I knew it before, but that doesn't matter… ”, he assured.

Of something that is second Max is that the arrival of Pérez will only enhance him. “I don't think it will change my performance at all. What's more, we will have a second car capable of being on top also throughout the race… I hope that Checo will bring the team up. Also with me because it is always good to have a pilot by your side who will pressure you ” concluded.
