During an event held in the Costanera, the Rompo team presented their new alienation and the decoration of the Renault fluence gt, which has practically no changes compared to the last contest. This launch was chaired by Pablo Sibilla, President and CEO of the local subsidiary of the French brand; Y Valentina solari, Commercial Director.
In addition to the pilots, they were also present Michelangelo Guerra, Sports Director; Marcelo ambrogio, Technical director; Y Alexander Reggi, Team Director.
“We are aligned with the global strategy of the brand, so we return to compete in the category where we wrote some of our best pages in the history of local motorsports. We have - in TC2000 and later in Super TC2000 - an unrivaled history, with epic triumphs and unforgettable championships. Our ambitions are clear for the future: to recover for us the triple crown of the STC2000 ”, affirmed Valentina Solari.
“That is why this year we are forming a luxury team, a team of drivers that combines experience and youth, and I am sure that Marcelo Ambrogio will provide them with the best tool for this season. Motorsports is in the DNA of Renault and it is undoubtedly the stage where, also, the brand shows what it aspires to and where passion is lived in a very special way ”, added the executive.
The team maintains Castrol as main partner. In addition, it has the support of AXION energy Renault Dealers Network, Plan Rombo, La Caja, LoJack, Crazy Twins, Fram, Etman, Glasurit, OLX Autos y Red Bull.
“Looking at the distance at the 2020 season, I rescued as a positive point the growth we had throughout a year that was sportingly short and where, in addition, we started the championship with a very different regulation from the previous one. From the outset, it was difficult for us to interpret those modifications, but we did it and it was very worthwhile.
I'm calm about the start of this season: we ended the year being very competitive and the first date has to be in that line. Obviously you have to keep working and growing to be champions again "Pernía said.
“Last season was an atypical year where we had to adapt to the conditions that the context was going to demand of us. What I rescued the most were the classifications where I was very solid and almost did not make my first pole in the category and in that sense, this year I think it will be essential to qualify ahead to have good results " Milla highlighted.
Fineschi, meanwhile, assured: “I want to join in the first races so as to consolidate myself and, from there, strategically evaluate when to take bigger risks. It is a great opportunity that comes to me in a great personal and professional moment ”.
Finally, Cingolani, who makes his debut in the specialty after being runner-up in TC2000, highlighted: “I get to where I wanted to be; that's why I'm also going to enjoy it. This step means continuing to learn, continuing to grow as a pilot alongside renowned and experienced professionals ”.
The first appointment of this year will be held over the weekend at the Buenos Aires city racetrack. A free practice is scheduled on Friday, qualifying and Sprint (25 minutes + 1 lap) on Saturday and the grand final on Sunday at noon (40 minutes + 1 lap).
