Renault Clio RS18: The spirit of the F.1 takes to the streets

Renault Clio RS18

Renault Sport launched the limited -and numbered- series Renault Clio RS18, directly inspired by the universe of Renault Sport Formula 1 Team. With the technical base of Clio RS 220 EDC Trophy, incorporates design elements that are directly reminiscent of the Maxima, thus linking the series model with top competition.

On the outside, an RS18 stripping located on the front doors and another roof stripping in the Renault Sport colors (gray double diamond and new RS logo) make a direct reference to the Rombo team in the F.1 and their car for the 2018 season. .

Splashes of Sirius Yellow, Renault Sport's iconic color, contrast with the deep black body color. The yellowish hue also appears in the lower guards of the doors and in the center of the wheels. The rear is completely black, as is the diamond and the exclusive RS logo on the front bumper. The diffuser also sports this color. These black elements give the car a more aggressive appearance.

Inside, the exclusivity of the limited series becomes apparent as soon as you enter, through the numbered door sill with the acronym RS. We find it again on the Alcantara steering wheel combined with leather that gives it a more sporty effect. On the dashboard, the aerators have a frame with a carbon look.

Of course, Renault Clio RS18 inherits the strong character of Renault Clio RS 220 EDC Trophy: its 220 hp engine that develops a maximum torque of 280 Nm with overtorque, its lower and firmer Trophy chassis, its shock absorbers coupled to hydraulic compression stops at the front, associated with an even more precise ultra-direct steering.

It adopts as standard (except for units destined for Japan), the Akrapovic exhaust line for a more powerful sound and more dynamic revs.
